Marla Amélie
We are happy to announce Marla Amélie Hoffman Alvarado was born on August 27th 2024 at 11:52 AM!​​
We had decided on doing a home birth, however after 8 hours of labor Gênova decided we needed to go to the hospital because the baby wasn't passing through the birth canal.
We drove 45 minutes to the nearest hospital and about two hours after arriving Gênova underwent an emergency C-section, and thankfully the operation was successful.
We brought Marla home 2 days after being born, and we are happy to say she is healthy and growing every day!

My mother Mary and brother Patrick visited us for a week and a half in October. It was a great opportunity for Mary to visit her first grandchild, and Patrick gladly accepted to become Marla's godfather.
Marla was baptized at the Catholic church here in Cunha on Saturday October 26th.

My father Paul and his partner Joanne will be visiting us in April/May next year, God willing, so Marla will be able to meet her grandfather for the first time!
